More old stuff.
This is a little purse I made in a very short time! I have since added a proper black button to the front :D This is another version of my little Trépuss character

Well, while I'm waiting for pay day to buy more wool to knit things for my new baby niece!! I will post some pics of my first few projects. I was only starting to get the bug and was working with felt, as it was cheap! At first I was hand sewing, then I bought my first machine :D As usual all of the things I made were for gifts, bar one or two things for moi.

My poor machine is gathering dust here since I discovered knitting, but I have a few things I want to alter, so I shall drag it out soon me thinks.

This is a little purse I made for Stephen's sister Leanne:

This was a cute drawstring bag for a mate Lisa, the little cutie on the front is a little character I played around with for a while

This bag was for my net bud Ellie, also in felt.

I altered some black cords that didn't fit me anymore to make this bag and the inside is from an old shirt I never wore. :D

Here is my new hat :D I'm not super impressed with how it turned out, but being my first hat, I spose it's ok ;D I still haven't ventured away from straight needles yet, so I have all that still to come!

I got the pattern here:http://leftinstitches.blogspot.com/2005/12/dobby-hat.html
I followed the pattern except for using different coloured yarns, as I got a bargain for this colour hehe

Next time I will use a better yarn, as this one is not so stretchy. I plan to make another one at least, in another colour.

I added the felt butterfly with sequins, as I thought it looked a bit too plain.
This first photo shows the colour the best.

So, I have enough yarn leftover from this project to make myself a matching pair of fingerless gloves again! WAHOO

Thanks for looking,

I got the pattern for these cool fingerless gloves here:http://ohmystars.net/craft/knitting/pgloves.html

I made the length a little longer in the stockinette stitch section and in the final ribbing, just because. I am really happy with how they turned out.
To seam them together it was mattress stitch which I had never done before and I found a great tut here: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring04/mattress.html, I'm not sure I got it completely right? They seem nice and secure to me :D
The wool I used was Icelandic 100% wool.
Here they are.

My first knitting project was this simple wristwarmer, which was inspired by this pattern http://knitting.about.com/od/knittingpatterns/p/val_wristwarmer.htm

Howdy,

I have just gotten into knitting again, after a 14yr absence! lol I am starting slowly and finding my way through the crazy abbv and techniques. Thus far, I have knitted a wristwarmer for moi, one with sequins for my lil sis, a scarf for my mam, one for me and I am now knitting some fingerless gloves.

The wool here in Iceland is so chunky and gorgeous looking, I can't help but touch every skein I see in the store! I have been lucky as the local store I first visited has been having a huge clearout sale, so I have gotten some pretty good discounts. Don't want to buy the good stuff yet!

So, I am posting some pictures of the scarf I did for my mam, for this Mother's Day(Sun18th in Ireland). It was a basic stockinette stitch pattern that I got on about.com and I just added more stitches and a different wool. I was kinda peed as I finished it and realised the shop had run out of the wool I needed, so I left it short. Also, I was not liking the curling effect. Sooo after much staring into space and rumaging through my stuff boxes, I found the three little turqouise crosses/plus symbols I have had since Xmas.

Voila! Idea! I added a button on one side of the scarf and a button loop at the back of the opposite side of the other end and then stitched the crosses to the front. It wqas not long enough to be a wrap around scarf at all, so this makes it a kinda, casual scarf to just pop on over a light jacket or something! I don't know lol I like it, so I hope my mam does too.

Here's some pics of me modelling it:
