First off, I cannot believe I have JUST figured out how to get a title above each post. doh! So I am sorry for the lack of them previously, it makes everything seem all run on-y.
I was browsing the new projects on CO+K and saw the cutest little fimo charm bracelet, made up of kinda cupcake fimo creations! So adorable, so obviously I had to make me some of them. I decided to make earrings and a necklace charm.
Then I made some fimo hair sticks. For one of them I utilized an old leather wrist cuff. I had already cut off the strap and buckle as I am allergic to the nickel in them! So, I just cut a hole either side for the stick to go through, I love those leather hair holders. Anyway I still have the sticks in and they have held my hair in place for around an hour now. yay

Bzzz Bzzz
It's a beautiful day out today, so inspired by the bee I dodged, I fished out some nik naks I had in one of my crafty boxes. I thought I had more bees but I only had one left, so I made him into a necklace and used the wooden stars for earrings. All I did was make an eyepin out of some wire and glue that to the back and then put on a jump ring and attached the earring hooks and necklace. Very simple.
Frankenstein is the way forward.
This is something I made the other day. Well I say "made", it's more like I Frankesteined some stuff haha
I took the top half(knee length) of a Monsoon skirt that was previously floor length-but too hard to walk in-and chopped it in half, then I took the remnants of another item, which was the bottom frill part of an M & S Per Una dress(bought for under 1000isk at an outlet store here) that I hacked off. I had already made the top part of that dress into an above the knee version.
I took these two parts and sewed them together, stitching a red ribbon along the join. I wore it out today and it feels lovely.

Since moving to Iceland in 2004, both Stephen and I have gladly partaken in the tradition of removing one's shoes upon entering your/anyone's home. In the winter I am fine with just throwing on a couple pairs of socks to keep my tootsies warm, but now in the "summer" it is actually too warm for that.
I do have some slip on sandals, but I use them for going out to get the washing and there is way too much cat pee out there to wear them back indoors! So I decided to make my own flip flops for the house.
I used the hardback of an A4 writing pad, some scrap material and some felt. I broke the bloody needle on my machine half way through the second flipper. I think from having to move the material around due to the curvy edges. Luckily I have lots of replacements.
The sweatshirt fabric I used for the liner was pretty crap, it just spread out so much when I was sewing and really bugged me. I would have scrapped it had it have been for someone else, but as it was just for me, I kept going. I think next time I would glue the material to the cardboard, much easier.

Swapsies
Another post, I have been pretty crafty lately, it feels great finishing lots of things. Although I did do them all in one day haha I am so bad with deadlines. Which is probably why I burned my hand and my dad's t-shirt didn't turn out right. I'm thinking that may have had something to do with it not being heated long enough? I don't know. He is likes it and I think it still looks pretty cool :) And it's the only one in the world, so that is always great!
This post is about the swap I did on Cut Out + Keep. My partner was Knittin' Kitten, we each told our partner symbols and colours etc that we liked and we had to make up to three items, including the personal choices of our partners. KK likes leopard print, vibrant pink, turquoise, roses and black and red.
I came up with the shopping bag first. I found the print on some shared image site and printed that out onto the fabric paper. The buttons I love them, they are so cute. I bought them in the nice knitting shop on Laugavegur.
Next I made the ring. The stone is a shell bead. I really like them too, I had to use a thinner wire to go through the bead and then a bigger wire to wrap around the finger part.
Finally I found lots of scrap cord fabric and a long piece of thick red ribbon and decided to make another bag, but this is a more casual outing bag and smaller too :) As I said in my previous post, I received an early birthday present(it's next month) form my friend up North, I got lots of crafting goodies, some lovely wool, fancy paper and some packets of little rose appliques. The red rose was a perfect accent to the bag, just what it was missing :D
So, next on my to-do list, is a present for my godmother. I have a few ideas ;-)

Gifts for Boys
I have my Father's Day present to post now. Also a present for my brother who turns 23 next week, but was a sneak and has already opened his present!
I created designs for them, which I put on t-shirts. I used the application Skitch to make the designs and to print them out and it's also what I use to upload and edit my pictures. I love it! I would be totally lost without it. Stephen tells me I may have to pay for it soon gah!
Anyway, I bought some proper Canon t-shirt printing paper this time and it is different than the last one I used. It is much better, but as it was my first time using it, I was not to know it would not work on a black t-shirt. So my dad's didn't turn out as bright as my brother's.(I will make my dad another, I just didn't have time)
My dad's has a Viking coming ashore in his longboat saying in bad Icelandic, "I have come for the womenfolk" haha I found it amusing anyway.
My brothers design is a little cartoon of him about to ascend a huge mountain range on his mountain bike and then finally conquering it. He has just gotten into mountain biking, so I thought he would appreciate it.
Their cards I made too. I had received an early birthday present from my friend up North, which included a pack of very swish paper, so I used that to make the outside of the cards and then printed out silly cartoons for their cards.
My dad's is him feeling relieved after I finally fall to sleep to the motion of the washing machine, which I have been constantly reminded of over the years.
And my brothers was a silly one of him chasing me, being kids. I mean I could of had us fighting like in real life, but that wouldn't be right ;-)
oh and I burned my left hand off the boiling hot iron, as I peeled off the backing to the t-shirt paper, as the iron just sat there! It's all red and scabby now :(
