I have just returned from a visit to Ireland. I had not been there for 4 years, so it was a great treat to see my hometown and my family again. My sister was making her Confirmation and back in December at my mosaic class I made her a present. So now I can finally post the photos!
Working out how the design will go.
Finished :)
My sister also turned 13 the day of her confirmation, so I made her a gift for that. I found out the colour's of her confirmation outfit and used them in the jewellery I made. I had bought some Swarovski beads and used them.
I made these earrings for my mam, I used the blue Swarovski beads in them. It actually turned out the dress she wore that day was the exact colour's of the earrings, and they matched perfectly.
On my last day in Ireland, the weather was brilliant and we took a trip to Glendalough. I hadn't been there since I was about 10, so it was great to get some new pictures of it.
This is my village.
The old house by the weir on the river Liffey.

I've Got the Fever
That's the hama bead fever. I have got it BAD! Stephen and I went to the shopping centre on Friday and he bought me lots of bags of beads! There were just so many colours, even glittery ones. He wanted to buy me the 35000 bead box, but the thought of looking through that box for one colour was enough to drive me mental. So I opted for single colour bags.
So I am sticking with a theme for the sprites, this one is Super Mario World, which is Stephen's favourite Mario game. There are still colours I am missing, but I can do without them for now by substituting other shades.
Anyhow, here is the finished Mario in all his chubby little glory.
This is the necklace I made my mother for Mothering Sunday. It is a natural coloured shell in the middle, with small lava stone beads on either side.
Stephen and I celebrated 11 years together yesterday, so I made myself a set of earrings and a necklace to wear with the new dress he bought me :)
The necklace was made with a how-to on cut out and keep.

Breithlá Shona Duit a Mháthair
It is my mother's birthday today. Happy Birthday mam :D
I made her a necklace and matching earrings for her present. I got an sms from her this morning and she loves them, and the boxes too, which I completely forgot to photograph!
I used these pearlescent beads, I'm not sure what they are exactly, but they look great. I also used some smaller sead beads and another purple slightly bigger bead.
The boxes I presented them in I bought in the craft shop. They are just plain white paper boxes, a small one for the earrings and a long rectangular one for the necklace. They come with some kind of foamy padding in the protect and hide the item inside.
I wrapped the boxes in some peach paper speckled with gold. Then I used some rub on stickers. They looked lovely believe me, I shall try to get my mam to send me pics.
So here are the earrings. I really need a better set up for taking pictures. The light is so bad down here in the basement!
The necklace, the catch is a silver plated magnetic one. I am interested to see how it lasts, as it is quite heavy on the chain.

I Am a Machine
First off, I cannot believe I have JUST figured out how to get a title above each post. doh! So I am sorry for the lack of them previously, it makes everything seem all run on-y.
I was browsing the new projects on CO+K and saw the cutest little fimo charm bracelet, made up of kinda cupcake fimo creations! So adorable, so obviously I had to make me some of them. I decided to make earrings and a necklace charm.
Then I made some fimo hair sticks. For one of them I utilized an old leather wrist cuff. I had already cut off the strap and buckle as I am allergic to the nickel in them! So, I just cut a hole either side for the stick to go through, I love those leather hair holders. Anyway I still have the sticks in and they have held my hair in place for around an hour now. yay

It's a beautiful day out today, so inspired by the bee I dodged, I fished out some nik naks I had in one of my crafty boxes. I thought I had more bees but I only had one left, so I made him into a necklace and used the wooden stars for earrings. All I did was make an eyepin out of some wire and glue that to the back and then put on a jump ring and attached the earring hooks and necklace. Very simple.

It's my friend Sj's birthday tomorrow and I know she has no internet connection, so I don't think I will be spoiling it if I post the pics of her present.
I made her a ring like the lava ring, but with a black chunky bead with gold stripes on it.
I also made her a hair clip, I used fimo to make the swirly piece and glue gunned it to the hair clip back.
This is something I made for myself and I also have another hair clip, which I plan on keeping for me too ;) I have to say I do enjoy working with fimo, it's like being a kid again and just letting your imagination go. Although mine didn't stray far from my favourite swirls, but you know, there is potential for anything ;)
I did make something for my little sister who turned 12 the other day, but I haven't sent it to her yet, as I ended up buying her the most amazing thing online instead. I bought her a Petite Blythe doll. I love these dolls, I haven't any of my own.. yet, but I thought it would be a great way to see if she liked them, to start her off small. She loved it! Lets hope she stops using those horrible Bratz dolls now. O_o

Well, I made an item the other day for a swap I am involved in through Cut Out + Keep It's a clothing swap, I'm getting a nice hippy skirt, but I didn't have anything for this girl, so I made her something.
I wanted it to have something Icelandic, so I used my last lava stone bead. I pretty much went by memory of a how-to on CO+K, I don't have a proper ring thingy for making the shape of the ring, so I improvised and used a spool of thread! It worked pretty well, but obviously I just guessed the size. It fit my ring finger.
The girl Queenfairypants, received it today, so now I can post the pics :) She seemed pretty happy, so that makes me happy!
I called it the Leia Ring as it resembles her signature hairstyle ;)
And now being modelled by the new owner Queenfairypants:

I have two creations to add today. One I made a few weeks back, but was only received today(cheeky lady opened it early hehe) and the other is a (as usual) late mother's day gift.
This is a bracelet I made for a friends birthday. I love the colour turquoise and on this shell it looks very pretty. To make it a little less girly for her, I added the black beads.
I made these next items for my mam, for Mother's Day, she called me today to let me know she got them, which was cool as I only sent them Monday!
I used the lava stone beads I got for xmas. I just love them so much, I saw they a lot of different shapes and sizes in the craft shop, so I hope to buy more in the future. I have one bead left, which I have earmarked for a ring ;)
I bent the wire ( copper plated covered in silver plating) into shape by hand. The earrings were pretty easy to make, again I used the wire to make eye pins and popped the beads right on.
I wrapped them in a tiny plastic bag and put them in a converted tea leaf container. I pasted my label on the outside and put some dried rose petals inside, for cuteness and my mam's name is Rose. I am very cheezy..
I painted a purple/green glitter heart on the top, to cover the tea's name.
Next on my list is anniversary gift for the boyfriend!! Something games related, I think.
